Zonara Privacy Policy
Effective October 29, 2026
The short version
Zonara doesn't collect your data. Everything stays on your iPhone and Apple Watch. There are no accounts, no ads, no analytics and no tracking, and nothing is sent to us. The one exception is looking up packaged foods, below: only the barcode or the words you search for are sent, never anything about you.
What Zonara uses, and where it stays
- Apple Health. With your permission, Zonara reads your age, sex, height, weight, resting heart rate, heart rate, blood pressure, steps, walking distance, flights climbed, active and resting energy (calories burned), exercise minutes, workouts, VO₂ max, the calories and macronutrients you log, and, on iOS 26 or later, the medications you choose to share and their logged doses (you pick each medication in Apple's sheet; Zonara can't add or change them). It writes the height, weight, blood pressure, sodium, food and water you log, and the workouts you record with Zonara. You can change these permissions at any time in Settings › Health › Data Access & Devices › Zonara.
- Your profile and history. Your profile (including the first name you give, if any), goals, weigh-ins (and any notes on them), blood pressure readings, intake estimate and workout history are stored in Zonara's private storage on your iPhone. The settings your watch needs are sent directly to your paired Apple Watch.
- Motion. Motion data on Apple Watch is used to count steps live.
- Food. Food you log is stored on your iPhone and, if you've connected Apple Health, saved there as food entries. The built-in food database is part of the app and works offline.
- Packaged foods. When you scan a barcode or search for packaged foods, Zonara sends that barcode or those search words to Open Food Facts, a free, non-profit food database, to get the product's nutrition. Nothing else is sent: no account, no health data, no identifier. Open Food Facts, like any website, receives your device's IP address with the request.
- Camera and photos. Nutrition labels and meal photos are read on your iPhone with Apple's built-in text and image recognition. The photos aren't kept or sent anywhere. Typed meal descriptions are read on your iPhone too, with Apple Intelligence where available.
What we never do
Health data is never used for advertising or marketing, sold, shared with third parties, or stored in iCloud. Zonara has no servers.
Purchases
Zonara Pro is sold through the App Store. Apple processes the payment, and Zonara only checks whether your subscription is active. We don't receive your payment details. Manage or cancel the subscription in Settings › your name › Subscriptions.
Your control
Export everything Zonara has stored (Profile › Data & privacy › Export my data), or delete it all (Profile › Data & privacy › Delete all my data). Deleting the app also deletes its data. Data Zonara saved in Apple Health stays there until you delete it in the Health app, or with the option in Delete all my data.
Children
Zonara is not directed at children under 13.
Not medical advice
Zonara gives general fitness guidance based on standard formulas. It doesn't diagnose or treat any condition. Talk to your doctor before starting a new exercise program, especially if you have high blood pressure or a heart condition.
Changes and contact
If this policy changes, the new version will be in the app and on this page, with a new effective date. For questions, use the Support link on Zonara's App Store page.
