Zonara Health & Safety Terms
Version 2026-10-29.3
- Zonara gives general fitness and wellness guidance. It isn't a medical device and doesn't diagnose, treat or prevent any condition.
- Heart-rate zones, calories, weight projections and plans are estimates from standard formulas and your sensors, and can be wrong.
- Check with your doctor first if you have a heart or blood pressure condition, take medication that affects heart rate, are pregnant, have a history of eating disorders, or haven't exercised in a while.
- Stop right away if you feel chest pain, pressure, dizziness, faintness, unusual shortness of breath or a racing or irregular heartbeat. In an emergency, call your local emergency number.
- Blood pressure categories and tips are general information. Never change salt, fluids or medicine for your blood pressure without your doctor.
- You exercise at your own risk.
General wellness only
Zonara provides general fitness and wellness information to help you exercise at a comfortable intensity and build healthy habits. It is not a medical device and does not diagnose, treat, cure, mitigate or prevent any disease or condition. It is not a substitute for professional medical advice. Always seek the advice of your doctor with questions about a medical condition, and never ignore or delay medical advice because of something in Zonara.
Talk to your doctor first if
- you have, or think you may have, a heart, lung, blood pressure or metabolic condition
- you have a pacemaker or other implanted device
- you take medication that affects your heart rate or blood pressure (for example beta blockers)
- you are pregnant or recently gave birth
- you have or had an eating disorder (don't use the calorie or weight features without your care team)
- you are under 18 (use Zonara only with a parent's or guardian's permission)
- you haven't exercised regularly, or are returning after illness or injury
Stop exercising if you feel
chest pain, pressure or tightness; dizziness or light-headedness; fainting; unusual shortness of breath; a racing, pounding or irregular heartbeat; nausea; or pain in your arm, jaw, neck or back. If symptoms don't go away, or are severe, call your local emergency number. Zonara can't detect or respond to emergencies.
Estimates, not measurements
Maximum heart rate, training zones, blood pressure categories, calorie burn, intake targets, weight projections, step counts and plans are estimates from standard formulas and from data provided by Apple Watch, Apple Health and you. Sensor readings can be inaccurate or missing. Haptic cues may be late, missed or wrong. Don't rely on Zonara to keep you safe; listen to your body.
Weight and calories
Weight projections, paces and intake targets, whether you're losing, gaining or maintaining, are general estimates for healthy adults and are limited to about 1% of body weight a week. They aren't a diet plan or nutrition advice for you. Don't eat below a safe intake, and get professional advice for any medical diet or if you're underweight.
Blood pressure
Blood pressure categories follow published guidelines for adults and are general information, not a diagnosis. Home cuff readings can be wrong. Zonara's target of under 120/80 is the general guideline for normal blood pressure in adults, not a personal target; Zonara doesn't work out targets for individuals. If your doctor gives you a target, you can enter it, and you're responsible for entering it correctly. Zonara's tips for high blood pressure are general lifestyle information, and Zonara doesn't coach raising blood pressure or set salt, fluid or medicine targets. Don't change your salt, fluids or medicine for your blood pressure without your doctor, and never stop or change a prescribed medicine on your own. If your readings are low and you feel dizzy, light-headed or faint, sit or lie down and talk to your doctor. A reading of 180/120 or higher, or any reading with chest pain, shortness of breath, weakness, numbness, or trouble seeing or speaking, needs urgent care: call your local emergency number.
Medications
On iOS 26 or later you can share medications from Apple Health. Zonara reads them to show today's doses and to note what some common medicines are known to do to heart rate and blood pressure. That list isn't complete and can be wrong, it isn't medical advice, and Zonara can't tell whether a medicine is right for you or working. Zonara may suggest a setting that lowers your heart rate zones; it never suggests starting, stopping or changing a medicine. Doses are logged in the Health app, and you're responsible for keeping your medications there accurate. Ask your doctor or pharmacist about your medicines.
Your responsibility
You choose whether, how and how hard to exercise, and you do so at your own risk. You're responsible for checking with your doctor and for your own safety, including your surroundings, equipment and the weather.
No warranties; limits on liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Zonara is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose and accuracy. To the fullest extent permitted by law, the developer is not liable for any injury, illness, loss or damage arising from your use of, or reliance on, Zonara, including indirect, incidental or consequential damages. Some places don't allow certain exclusions or limits, so some of these may not apply to you; your statutory rights aren't affected.
Other terms
These Health & Safety terms add to Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement (apple.com/legal/internet-services/itunes/dev/stdeula), which also applies. If they conflict, these terms apply to health and safety matters. Zonara Pro subscriptions are sold and managed by Apple.
